:Italy's Jonathan Milan of Bahrain Victorious claimed his first Grand Tour stage win at the Giro d'Italia on Sunday after powering through to the finish line in the final sprint of stage two, a 202-km ride from Teramo to San Salvo.

And so it proved on the first road stage of the race with a crash 4km from the finish holding up sprinters and GC riders alike before Italy’s Jonathan Milan (Bahrain Victorious) won the reduced bunch sprint to secure a maiden win on his debut.
Italy’s Gaia Realini (Trek-Segafredo) produced a stunning sprint to the line to pip Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar) to Stage 6 victory at La Vuelta Femenina and take her first ever World Tour win, but the world champion was consoled by taking the leader’s red jersey. Realini played the final stages perfectly and kept pace with the Dutchwoman as the pair broke away from the rest of the field 30km from the finish, saving enough energy to win the two-up sprint even with a contentious photo finish putting some doubt into the result which was changed twice.
Mercedes' Miami Grand Prix practice session pace was “a kick in the guts”, according to Lewis Hamilton, who claims his team “desperately” need car upgrades. Ad Evenepoel will start as narrow favourite ahead of Roglic, who has returned to the peloton in sensational form after a horror crash ended his Vuelta hopes last September.
