The latest Speedway Grand Prix race in Warsaw began with a show of solidarity between neighbours Ukraine and Poland following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. With more than 50,000 fans packed into the national stadium in Warsaw, a huge Tifo display was unveiled with the flags of Ukraine and Poland stitched together.

Three-time Speedway GP world champion Tai Woffinden has told Eurosport that he cannot wait to get going in the Warsaw GP on Saturday. Maciej Janowski has set his sights on a first Speedway Grand Prix title, and told Eurosport a relaxed mindset could get him over the line. The 30-year-old has been competing in the top bracket of the sport for over a decade, and is once again among the favourites for glory in 2022.
