Cricket South Africa (CSA) has confirmed that it will be travelling to Bangladesh for a two-match Test series beginning on October 21. The board also added that the squad for the series will be announced later on Monday. In a statement, CSA said a security assessment was recently conducted by its' Operations Manager, Team Security Manager, Safety and Security Consultant, and a representative of the South African Cricketers' Association.
Bangladesh cricket team all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been asked to clear his political stance before asking for security in order to play his final Test match at home. Shakib announced his retirement ahead of the second Test match against India and said that he wishes to play his last game against South Africa in Dhaka. However, he was named in the FIR of a murder case and he said that he could not travel to Bangladesh without the government assuring him of his safety. Bangladesh Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud reacted to Shakib's request and said that he will receive security like any cricketer. However, he added that Shakib's role as a former politician also cannot be ignored.

Aiden Markram's calm innings helped South Africa avoid suffering a series clean sweep by Afghanistan with a seven-wicket victory in the third one-day international in Sharjah on Sunday. The Proteas cruised to their target of 170 thanks to an unbeaten 69 from Markram, having briefly wobbled at 80-3. Afghanistan had already wrapped up a historic series triumph after winning the first two matches but struggled with the bat after winning the toss. Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz matched India legend Virat Kohli in an elite list. The Afghan star notched up a spectacular century against South Africa in the second ODI between the two sides. This was Gurbaz's seventh ODI century, tying with Kohli as the player with the second-most hundreds in ODIs before turning 23 years old. South Africa's Quinton de Kock had eight ODI tons before turning 23, which is a record. Gurbaz turns 23 on November 28, and still has time to match that.
Rashid Khan was in brilliant form for Afghanistan in the second ODI against South Africa in Sharjah on Friday. The Afghanistan star took a five-wicket haul as Afghanistan restricted South Africa to just 134 while defending a total of 311. In doing so, Rashid became the first cricketer in 53-year history of ODI cricket to take a five-wicket haul on his birthday. Rashid turned 26 on Friday.
