Jules Kounde said he was glad to join an ambitious club like Barcelona as the Catalan club officially unveiled the centre back on Monday.
Barcelona have sold 25 percent of Barca Studios, which manages the club's digital business and audiovisual productions, to Socios.com for 100 million euros (102.5m dollars), club president Joan Laporta said on Monday.
"I'm very happy, very proud. I'm coming to a big club, an ambitious club, and I'm also coming with ambition," the 23-year-old said at his first press conference as a Barcelona player on Monday afternoon at the Catalan club's training centre. According to the Spanish press, Barca paid Sevilla 50 million euros, with 10 million in bonuses, for Kounde who has signed a five-year contract.
Barcelona have indicated that they have bigger priorities than Bernardo Silva in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.
Jules Kounde has confirmed he had the option to join Chelsea but decided to wait for an offer to materialise from Barcelona, with the defender preferring a move to Camp Nou.
