SC approves CoA's timeline for AIFF elections, polls to be held on Aug 28

The top court has approved the time-line of the AIFF elections prepared by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) which is currently running the affairs of the national federation. According to the order of the Supreme, which heard the pending case on Wednesday, the Returning Officer will prepare the final list of voters comprising state associations and eminent players' representatives forming the electoral college on the same day of poll notification. Nomination papers can be filed from August 17 to 19 by the candidates and delivered to the Returning Officer in person or by post.

SYDNEY : Australia have called inexperienced hooker Billy Pollard into their squad for their first two matches in the Rugby Championship against Argentina after Dave Porecki suffered a concussion in training.

It was career-threatening but thankfully Polledri has recovered and is back in training. It is so good to see the powerful ball carrier return and hopefully he will be wreaking havoc soon.

FIFA ban on the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the Supreme Court said on Thursday it will first deal with the issue of holding elections to it so a democratically elected body is in place well ahead of the under-17 Women's World Cup. A FIFA ban, on account of delayed elections to the AIFF, may result in the Women's U-17 World Cup being shifted outside India. The tournament is to be held in three venues from October 11 to 30.
