Umar Gul Named As Pakistan Bowling Coach For Afghanistan T20Is

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday announced that Abdul Rehman and Umar Gul will be the head coach and bowling coach respectively for the side during the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan later this month. Abdul Rehman is a seasoned coach and has achievements to his credit. He was the head coach of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when they won National T20 and Pakistan Cup and shared Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with Central Punjab. He also won two National T20s as head coach of Peshawar Panthers and was Peshawar Zalmi's assistant coach when they won the HBL Pakistan Super League in 2017.

Saturday turned out to be a memorable day in Pakistan Super League as the fans got to witness the first hattrick of the eighth season during the Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans match. The rare feat was achieved by Abbas Afridi of Sultans, who helped his side clinch a nine-run win in a high-scoring thriller. Asked to bat first, the Mohammad Rizwan-led Sultans posted a whopping total of 262/3 in 20 overs with Usman Khan smashing 120 off 43 balls. Later, the Gladiators also put up a great fight but were restricted for 253/8, courtesy of Afridi's hattrick.

Afghanistan Announce Schedule For Home Series Against Pakistan

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) have announced the schedule for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan that will be played later this month in Sharjah. The series will begin from March 25, with the third and final T20I played on March 29. Afghanistan have played Pakistan several times in Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and International Cricket Council (ICC) events in recent years, but this will be the first time the two countries meet in a three-match T20I series.
