Pakistan Cricket Team Call Up 3 Uncapped Players For Australia Tour

Pakistan on Monday called up uncapped players Saim Ayub, Aamir Jamal and Khurrum Shehzad for the three-Test series in Australia, starting in December after fast bowler Naseem Shah couldn't recover from a shoulder surgery for the tour. Shan Masood will be leading the 18-member squad against Australia with new chief selector, Wahab Riaz also recalling left-arm pacer, Mir Hamza for the tour for which nine players from the World Cup squad have also been retained. Pakistan plays three Tests before moving on to New Zealand for five T20 internationals but Wahab only named the Test squad on Monday. While swashbuckling opener, Saim Ayub has played 8 T20 internationals and Aamir Jamal four T20 matches, pace bowler Khurrum Shehzad has been called up for the first time by Pakistani selectors due to his impressive performances in domestic cricket.

On a spree of making new appointments, the Pakistan Cricket Board on Saturday named former captain Mohammad Yousuf as the head coach of the national U-19 team ahead of the Asia Cup and the World Cup early next year. Yousuf's appointment comes a day after PCB elevated the former fast bowler Sohail Tanvir as the head of the junior selection committee. "Pitch From India vs Pakistan...": Rohit Sharma On Playing Cricket World Cup 2023 Final On 'Used' Track

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma had a clear answer about playing the Cricket World Cup 2023 final against Australia on a 'used' pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The pitch which will be used for the summit clash was last used during India's game against Pakistan - a match that the Rohit Sharma-led side won comprehensively. During the pre-match press conference, Rohit was asked about the surface and he answered that although the pitch was 'a lot drier' against Pakistan, it now has a bit of grass. However, he was quick to point out that the toss will not play a major role in the match.

India vs Pakistan World Cup Match Pitch To Be Used For Final. Pat Cummins' Act During Inspection Goes Viral

Inspecting the pitch before a match is routine but clicking pictures of the track, for possible dressing room discussion and strategy building, is a bit unusual. That's exactly what happened this morning when Australia skipper Pat Cummins came to have a look at the 22-yard-strip which will be used for the World Cup title clash between India and Australia on Sunday. Probably the pitch is playing on Australians' mind before the big match. Cummins was guarded in his response when asked about his assessment of the pitch, which has already been used for the marquee India-Pakistan match.

"PCB Left With Zero Credibility...": Ex-Pakistan Star Questions Mohammed Hafeez's Appointment As Director Of Cricket

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif has questioned the country's cricket board over the appointment of ex-captain Mohammad Hafeez as Director of Cricket. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed Hafeez's appointment earlier this week, while reports have emerged that the former all-rounder will serve a duel role, with the apex body set to merge the post of team director and head coach. Taking to social media platform X, Asif questioned PCB's credibility in the matter, highlighting Hafeez's resignation earlier this year from his post in the Technical Committee.
