PCB Appoints Tony Hemming As Chief Curator For 2 Years

The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Australia's Tony Hemming as its new chief curator on a two-year contract. In the past the PCB had hired the services of foreign curators like Andy Atkinson to help improve the quality of pitches in the country but this is the first time it has offered a long-term contract to a foreign curator. Hemmings hails from Western Australia. The Australian has worked in the past with the ICC and has four decades of experience in pitch and outfield management, having worked on Melbourne, Perth and Hobart grounds apart from supervising tracks in Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh reflected on the recent World Championship of Legends title win against Pakistan Champions and said the feeling of winning for the country is unmatched. India Champions defeated Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the summit clash of the inaugural WCL title in Birmingham on Saturday. "I don't think there's any better feeling than coming and winning the game for India; that's our passion. I think you always say that it's been so many years, it's hard to get back on the field, but as I said, no better feeling. I think Australia and Pakistan were really good teams in the tournament." Yuvraj said on Star Sports.

Amid Champions Trophy 2025 Row, Pakistan's "Has To Be In Writing" Mandate For BCCI

The Pakistan Cricket Board wants the BCCI to provide written proof of the Indian government's denial of permission in case the team refuses to come here for next year's Champions Trophy citing a travel ban on security grounds, a PCB source has said. The host Board also wants the matter to be sorted as soon as possible, given that the tournament is scheduled in February-March. While the ICC annual conference will be held in Colombo on July 19 doesn't have any discussion on 'Hybrid Model' about India playing their games in the UAE on its agenda, the global body as usual has earmarked additional fund in case it becomes a two-country tournament.

PCB To Reduce Central Contracts Duration But No Pay Cut For Pakistan Cricketers

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday decided to reduce duration of its central contracts from three years to one but opted against reducing payment to its players. The decisions were taken during a meeting in Lahore called by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Among those present in the meeting were Pakistan's new red-ball coach Jason Gillespie, white-ball coach Gary Kirsten, selectors Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq, assistant coach Azhar Mahmood and other senior officials. The board said it intends to make significant overhauls to its policies after the national team's debacle in the T20 World Cup, wherein Pakistan failed to make the Super Eight stage following defeats to India and the USA.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a firm stance on hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 entirely within its territory, dismissing any considerations for a hybrid model. In a tit-for-tat move, the PCB has reportedly threatened to pull out of the 2026 T20 World Cup, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, if the Indian team refuses to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. According to a Geo News report, the PCB is steadfast on hosting the entire tournament in Pakistan and will oppose any hybrid model proposals during the ICC's annual conference in Colombo from July 19-22.
