Pakistan May Withdraw From Champions Trophy 2025 After India's Refusal To Travel: Report

Pakistan may withdraw from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, according to a report in news publication Dawn, if its hosting rights are stripped following India's refusal to travel to the country. The report quoted 'official sources' as saying that the Pakistan government is likely to ask the Pakistan Cricket Board to refuse to stop playing India in any ICC or Asian Cricket Council events until issues are resolved between the countries.

"No Moral Or Legal Grounds": Pakistan Government's Big Advice To PCB Amid India's Refusal To Travel - Report

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly set to write a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) following the communication that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially refused to allow the Indian cricket team to travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Reports suggest that Pakistan have taken legal consultation regarding the matter, and the PCB will now seek clarification from the ICC regarding India's refusal to travel to Pakistan. Government officials have also reportedly advised the PCB on the issue.

Pakistan sprang a major surprise in the ODI series against Australia as the Mohammad Rizwan-led side won the contest. Pakistan have not been in great from of late but against Australia, they stepped up. The Australian team not only surrendered an ODI series to Pakistan at home for the first time in 22 years after an eight-wicket loss to the Asian side in third ODI at Perth, but also registered an unfortunate record of not registering any half-century by a batter throughout a bilateral series for the first time ever.

Ex-India Star Blames Pakistan For Champions Trophy Row: "There Was A Bomb Blast..."

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was informed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday that India will not be travelling to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025. There was a lot of chatter surrounding India's participation in the competition but the Indian government decided to not grant permission to the national side. Earlier, the BCCI suggested a hybrid theory that involved India playing their games in Dubai but it was rejected by the PCB who wanted to host the entire tournament in Pakistan. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra said that Pakistan are to blame for the current scenario.

Australia's Border Gavaskar Trophy Preference Slammed By World Cup-Winning Captain After Loss To Pakistan In ODI Series

Australia's former captain Michael Clarke expressed strong concerns over the decision by team management to rest key players in the third and final ODI against Pakistan, a move that contributed to Pakistan's historic ODI series win over Australia on their home soil for the first time in 22 years. Clarke voiced his frustrations on Big Sports Breakfast, questioning why the team prioritised rest for star players over a chance to secure the series win.

"No Champions Trophy Without India": PCB Told 'Hard Reality' Amid BCCI Sanction Talks

The topic of Champions Trophy 2025 is gaining all the public attention with every passing day. The tournament is slated to be hosted by Pakistan but Team India has refused to travel to the neighbouring country, citing the political tensions between the two nations. Since 2008 Asia Cup, India are yet to visit Pakistan while the 1992 world champions came to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also informed that they have received an email from the ICC regarding India's refusal to travel.

PCB's Next Move Revealed After India Refuse To Travel For Champions Trophy 2025

India will not travel to Pakistan for the eight-team Champions Trophy starting in February, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Sunday. Deteriorating political relations, tense at the best of times, have meant the bitter rivals have not played a bilateral series for over a decade -- with India last touring Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2008. "The Pakistan Cricket Board has received an email from the ICC (International Cricket Council), stating that the Indian board has informed them that their team will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025," PCB spokesman Sami Ul Hasan told AFP.

"It's A Joke...": Pakistan Legends Fume Over India's Champions Trophy 2025 Stand

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday initiated talks with senior government officials to discuss future course of action after ICC conveyed to PCB about India's unwillingness to tour the country for next year's Champions Trophy. The PCB confirmed that it received an e-mail from the ICC regarding India's reluctance to travel to Pakistan for the marquee tournament, even as Naqvi had earlier turned down a 'Hybrid Model'. “Mohsin Naqvi, who is the federal interior minister, is in touch with government officials and the wait is now on what directives the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif gives,” a PCB official said. The official expressed his disappointment over India's stand despite Pakistan promising full-scale security for the visitors during the ICC showpiece.
