The Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday confirmed that 18-year-old batter Ayesha Naseem is retiring from all forms of competitive cricket, due to "personal reasons". The PCB has appointed Nida Dar as the new skipper and it will also be her first full-time stint as the leader of the team. On Sunday, it was reported that Naseem, an explosive right-hander had decided to call it quits because of religious reasons but PCB took another 48 hours to confirm the development. Although she had reasoned her retirement for "personal reasons", it was widely speculated that it was primarily for religious reasons. Former Pakistan Captain Misbah-ul-Haq Set To Work As PCB Advisor

Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq is set to return to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) nearly two years after he resigned as head coach of the national team, as reported by ESPNcricinfo. According to ESPNcricinfo, he will also be the advisor on cricketing affairs to the current head of the PCB, Zaka Ashraf. The upcoming appointment is the first significant step the new leadership would take in managing Pakistan cricket. After a brief legal snafu in late June, when Najam Sethi's term as caretaker chairman came to an end, Ashraf was chosen to lead the PCB's new executive committee. Misbah's position is anticipated to be an honorary one, which means he won't receive compensation. After their Monday meeting, he came to a final conclusion.

Pakistan To Change Asia Cup Stance? PCB Wants To Host More Games: Report

The PCB will try to get more matches of the Asia Cup to be staged in Pakistan when the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) board meets in Dubai on Sunday. Following the acceptance of the hybrid model by all stakeholders including the PCB and BCCI, the ACC announced last month that four matches will be held in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka with the event to held from August 31 to September 17. Hybrid model was proposed as BCCI had clearly conveyed that it won't send its team to Pakistan due to the tense relations between the two countries.

"Unfair To Deprive People...": Former Pakistan Captain Questions PCB Over World Cup Stance

Former Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq has advocated for his country's team be allowed to compete in the ODI World Cup in India and added that not sending the side for the mega-event would be "depriving people" of the opportunity to see the arch-rivals clash on the biggest stage. "When there can be contacts between the two countries in other sports, why not in cricket. Why link cricket with political relations? It is unfair to deprive people of a chance to see their teams play against each other," said Misbah, the 49-year-old former Pakistan captain and coach at a function here on Friday.
