He achieved the milestone during DC's eight-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday. Rahul reached the elusive milestone in 130 innings and beat the likes of David Warner (135), Virat Kohli (157), AB de Villiers (161) and Shikhar Dhawan (168) in the list. Pant dropped himself down to number seven and faced just two balls before being bowled by Mukesh Kumar on the final delivery of LSG's innings. Pant's decision to demote himself was heavily criticised by fans and experts as LSG slumped to a thumping eight-wicket loss to DC. During LSG's innings, a camera spotted Pant, who was padded up to bat, having an intense chat with Zaheer.

While the official reason he gave was that he wanted to play with more freedom and be part of a dressing room that was relaxed, rumour mills had a different story. Earlier in IPL 2024, a video broke the internet which showed Sanjiv Goenka animatedly talking to KL Rahul after LSG's loss to SunRisers Hyderabad in a match.

Delhi Capitals registered a thumping victory over Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2025 match on Tuesday at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Opting to bowl first, DC restricted LSG to 159/6 with pacer Mukesh Kumar scalping four wickets. Later, DC chased down the target in just 17.5 overs and eight wickets in hand with KL Rahul and Abishek Porel hitting half-centuries. This was DC's sixth victory after eight games while for LSG, it was fourth loss after nine matches.

Following an unfortunate incident, Lucknow Super Giants star batter Nicholas Pooran made a fan's day by gifting him a signed cap. Notably, during LSG's IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans, one of Pooran's monstrous sixes had hit on the head of the fan at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium. The fan, whose was identified as Nabeel, was then taken to a hospital to receive a quick medical treatment. However, ahead of the match against Delhi Capitals on Monday, Pooran met Nabeel and even apologised for his shot.
