IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians Will Do Their Best To Get Back Ishan Kishan, Says Former India Cricketer

Former India batter Aakash Chopra reckons that Mumbai Indians will do everything in their power to get Ishan Kishan at the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. The IPL mega auction will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. Kishan has listed his base price as Rs 2 crore but he is not a part of the marquee set. "It will be very very difficult because there is no right to match card, to begin with, and secondly, their whole success formula that they eventually found was about two skilled players - they had Hardik, Krunal and Pollard one after the other and that provided them with a lot of depth. Their wicketkeeper was always a phenomenal batter, when you look at Quinton de Kock or Ishan Kishan - is it possible to now get all of them together, it's almost next to impossible," Chopra said on Star Sports show 'Game Plan -- IPL Auction Special'.

Here's What Dinesh Karthik Said When Asked About Playing For CSK In IPL

Dinesh Karthik is currently putting in the hard yards in Mumbai under the guidance of friend and mentor Abhishek Nayar, focussed on sharpening his finishing skills in the T20 format. Not because the IPL auctions are around the corner. His plan is simple. The 36-year-old, who last played for India in the 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal, is committed to playing the game for "another 3-4 years" and is determined to make a national comeback in the shortest format.

"If Virat Kohli Can Take Over...": Ajit Agarkar On "Easiest Solution" For Royal Challengers Bangalore

Former India pacer Ajit Agarkar said if Virat Kohli is willing to take up the captaincy again then it could be the "easiest solution" for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of IPL 2022. Kohli had decided to quit as RCB's captain weeks after announcing that the 2021 World Cup would be his last as India's captain in the shortest format of the game. In December last year, the prolific right-hander was replaced by Rohit Sharma as India's white-ball skipper and a month later, Kohli decided to quit as Test captain following a 1-2 defeat to South Africa. Kohli, however, was retained by RCB as a player and Agarkar feels it might just be the best thing for RCB if he continues as the leader.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly Hints At Venues For League Matches Of IPL 2022

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is likely to be held in India "until and unless COVID-19 hits the roof." With less than a fortnight to go for the IPL 2022 mega auction, Ganguly's comments are certain to delight the Indian cricket fans, who have been deprived of a full IPL season for last two years - IPL 2020 was held in UAE entirely while last year's edition started in India but had to be stopped mid-way due to a COVID-19 outbreak and was held a few months later in the UAE. The former India captain also added that the board is planning to host the league phase of the 15th edition of IPL in Mumbai and Pune. Ganguly, however, did not clarify whether crowd will be allowed in the venues.

Indian Premier League 2022: Need Players Who Can Adapt To All Conditions, Says Kolkata Knight Riders Bowling Coach Bharat Arun

Kolkata Knight Riders newly appointed bowling coach Bharat Arun said that the franchise would look to pick players who can adapt to all conditions during the upcoming IPL mega auction. As things stand now, the venue of the tournament slated to be held in the last week of March is yet to be decided and with 10 days left for the auction the KKR think tank are busy preparing their strategy. "You need to pick players who can adapt to different conditions. Even before the pandemic, when you picked bowlers for home conditions, you still needed them to play seven away games in the IPL," former India bowling coach Arun told kkr.in.
