Daniel Vettori Hints At Possible Reason Behind RCB Retaining Maxwell

With Virat Kohli stepping down as captain after IPL 2021, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have a real dilemma and will be hoping to find the best solution ahead of the upcoming season. Many fans and experts have asked the franchise to rope in former SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner, who had a fantastic T20 World Cup last year. Despite getting removed from SRH's captaincy mid-way through IPL 2021, Warner was a pivotal figure for Australia, who won the T20 World Cup trophy. But former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori feels that the franchise has an option right in front of them and suggested the name of Glenn Maxwell. The Aussie all-rounder is one of the three players to have been retained by the franchise. The others being Kohli and Mohammed Siraj. The former RCB cricketer also feels that Maxwell was retained as "he's a potential captaincy option".

Former Auctioneer Narrates Story Of IPL's "First Bidding War" For MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni is considered by many to be Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) most successful player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. "Not Much Attention Is On Me When Batting With Kohli": Former RCB Opener

Since his Indian Premier League debut, Devdutt Padikkal has developed a lot as a cricketer. The exposure of playing with cricketers like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers helped him a great deal. Kohli, who was leader when Padikkal burst onto the scene, stepped down as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain after IPL 2021 but has been retained by the franchise ahead of IPL 2022. The duo has batted together on many occasions in the IPL. Although Padikkal hasn't been retained by the franchise, he is expected to be involved in a bidding war during the IPL 2022 mega auction this month. IPL 2022 Auction: 5 Players Punjab Kings Should Buy

Punjab Kings are all set for yet another fresh start in the Indian Premier League, as they look to prepare a team for the future in the upcoming IPL auction. Punjab have never won the IPL and most disappointingly, they have not reached the knock-out stage since finishing runners-up in 2014. What's worse, in their 14-year history, they have finished in the top 4 only twice. These stats quite clearly show that Punjab are by far the worst-performing team in the history of IPL. With KL Rahul joining Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings will be in the market during the IPL auction for a new captain. They have retained just two players and have the biggest purse available among all the teams.
