Virat Kohli's knock in the first innings of the third Test against New Zealand came to an abrupt end as he was run out on just four runs. Kohli had walked in to bat in the final overs of Day 1, but was dismissed before Stumps could be called. Kohli, who is reputed for his running between the wickets, fell short of his ground after a direct hit by New Zealand pacer Matt Henry. Former India coach Ravi Shastri, who was on commentary, wasn't best pleased.

Akash Deep made a sensational start to the second innings of the third Test against New Zealand. Opening the bowling, Akash Deep clean bowled New Zealand captain Tom Latham in the very first over. In the fourth ball of the first over, Akash Deep had trapped Latham on the pads, to which the umpire gave out LBW. However, the decision was overturn after Latham took a DRS Review. The very next ball, Akash Deep responded with aplomb, completely dismantling Latham's stumps.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, fans could be seen singing the song loudly from the stands. The camera then turned towards Kohli who could also be seen doing the hook step on the ground. This is not the first time that Kohli was caught on camera dancing on the field as he is well known for his funny antics.

New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell on Friday said the third Test against India was "evenly poised" despite the hosts' collapsed, handing the advantage to the Kiwis after the opening day's play of the final match of the series here. India did well to keep New Zealand to 235 after the visitors won the toss with Mitchell top-scoring with 82, but the hosts lost wickets in heap towards the end to be placed at a precarious position of 86 for four, trailing by another 149 runs.

Jadeja's 14th five-wicket haul came after a brief period of lull as he looked menacing while mixing deliveries, pitching it on good length spots and letting the variable bounce and abrasive surface work in his favour. However Jadeja's assessment of the track was also an indicator that possibly Ravichandran Ashwin has lost a bit of pace in his deliveries as it required more shoulder effort to get the zip off the surface.

What was supposed to be a good day for India, has suddenly turned to be a tricky outing. Needing a win to avoid a series clean sweep, India dismissed New Zealand for 235 in the first innings. In reply, India were 78/1 at one stage, but from 17.2 overs to 18.3 overs, lost three wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj and Virat Kohli. Kohli dismissal happened in the last over of the day. In a previous test of the three-match series, Kohli was out in the last over too. Friday was the first time Virat Kohli got dismissed run out in a home Test.
