Watch: Jasprit Bumrah Uproots Mushfiqur Rahim's Middle Stump With Stunning Delivery

As India's search for the 10th Bangladesh wicket reached the final ball of the extended first session, Jasprit Bumrah produced a stunning delivery that completely deceived Mushfiqur Rahim. The Bangladesh batter was hoping to take a single in order to keep the strike when the second session begins but failed to read the slower one from Bumrah. The delivery from India's marquee pacer went through the gap between Mushfiqur's bat and pad to uproot the middle stump. Courtesy of Bumrah's third wicket of the innings, Bangladesh were bowled out for 147.

BCCI Breaks Silence On 'Washout' Row During India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test In Kanpur

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla on Monday put up a stout defence of Kanpur as a Test centre, saying the venue can't be denied the chance to host long format matches as it is set to undergo an upgrade to improve its infrastructure. Persistent rain has played havoc with the second Test between India and Bangladesh at the Green Park as two full days of play were washed out without a ball being bowled. The stadium has an outdated drainage system and three super soppers were used to dry the ground after rain. On Sunday, it did not rain much and the sun also came out for a brief period but the wet outfield did not allow play to begin. Only 35 overs could be bowled across the first three days of the Test.

First Time Since 1877: Team India Scripts History With Unprecedented Six Hitting Feat

The Indian cricket team registered a new all-time record, becoming the first team in world cricket go past the 90 sixes mark in a single calendar year. India reached the landmark as Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal came out all guns blazing against Bangladesh on Day 4 of the second Test in Kanpur. The duo hit Bangladesh bowlers all around the park, as India broke England's record of scoring the most number of maximums in a calendar year in Tests. England had scored 89 sixes in 2022, before seeing that record being broken by India.

Watch: Mohammed Siraj's Catch Of The Year Contender Sets Internet On Fire

On a brilliant day for Team India in the field, Mohammed Siraj grabbed a brilliant one-handed catch. With India up against Bangladesh on Day 4 of the second Test in Kanpur, the only objective set was claiming quick wickets. It was Jasprit Bumrah who bagged the first wicket for the team on the day, sending Mushfiqur Rahim packing before Mohammed Siraj struck to dismiss Litton Das, thanks to a brilliant catch by Rohit Sharma. Probably inspired by Rohit's effort, Siraj then produced a one-handed stunner himself as Ravichandran Ashwin sent Shakib al Hasan packing.

Virat Kohli's Old 5 Test Centres Rant Goes Viral Amid Kanpur Controversy, Dinesh Karthik Reacts

Virat Kohli's old video of 5 designated Test centres resurfaced on social media as the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur witnessed lack of action due to a damp outfield, especially on Day 3. Despite the venue not witnessing any rain on Sunday, not a single over could be possible because of the soft outfield. As frustrations grew among players and fans, Kohli's old video highlighting how India should only have 5 world-class venues for Test matches went viral. Even former India wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik spoke about the topic after the end of Day 3.

Rinku Singh To Play As Opener In T20Is vs Bangladesh? Ex-Selector's Stunning Suggestion

Former Indian cricket team selector Saba Karim believes that Rinku Singh will be a good option to open the batting for India along with Abhishek Sharma in the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. In a recent interaction, Karim explained that Rinku does not get much time to show off his talent and his aggressive playing style will complete Abhishek. Rinku typically bats at No. 6 or 7 for India but Karim added that he should face more balls in order to add more value to the team.

2nd Test: Mehidy Hasan Miraz Admits To Being Surprised Over India's Attacking Approach

Bangladesh's off-spin all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz said he was taken by surprise over India's attacking approach with the bat on day four of the rain-affected second Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday. Under sunny skies, India's breathtaking approach with the bat saw them set records for the fastest team 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 in men's Tests. On the back of half-centuries scored by Yashasvi Jaiswal and K.L. Rahul, India declared its first innings on 285/9 in just 34.4 overs after bowling out Bangladesh for 233.
