Champions Trophy 2025 Row: Financial Implications If India Or Pakistan Pull Out Of Tournament

The decision taken by India to not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 has reignited the tensions between the two countries. There was a lot of chatter surrounding India's participation in the tournament but on Sunday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) informed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about India's decision. Earlier, India did suggest a 'hybrid' solution which involved their national side playing the games in Dubai but it was rejected by Pakistan. Media reports have suggested that Pakistan are exploring options which include hosting the tournament without India or boycotting it.

Ricky Ponting Fires Back At Gautam Gambhir After India Coach's Press Conference Remarks

The start of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is still a few days away but a war seems to have begun between Gautam Gambhir and Ricky Ponting. The India head coach didn't take Ponting's comments on under-fire Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma well, suggesting the former Australia skipper to stick to his own team. Now, Ponting too has shared his reaction on the comments made by Gambhir in the press conference ahead of the team's flight to Australia, calling the India head coach a 'prickly character'.

Sledging Begins - India Told They Won't Be Able To "Stand Up" vs Australia In Border Gavaskar Trophy

Former Australia cricket team wicket-keeper batter Brad Haddin believes that Indian batters will have not be able to stand up to the Australian fast bowlers. During a recent interaction, Haddin pointed out that Indian batters, irrespective of their stature, may struggle to score runs due to their weakness against bouncers. He even namedropped talented youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal and said that although he has been scoring runs, the left-hander may struggle in the first Test match starting November 22.

"Depriving Cricket": Pakistan Legends Target BCCI Over Strict Champions Trophy Stance

The Indian cricket team has planned against travelling to Pakistan for ICC Champions Trophy participation. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) left the decision in the hands of the government, which has decided against sending the team across the border. While the Pakistan Board understandably remains miffed over the situation, some of its greats have publicly hit out at the BCCI over the matter. Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq feels that India's stance deprives cricket of a big occasion, which is India playing cricket in Pakistan after more than a decade.

"Nathan Lyon More Complete Bowler Than R Ashwin": Ex-South Africa Star's Bombastic Verdict

Veteran Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon, expected to play a vital role in the upcoming five-Test Border-Gavaskar series, is a more "complete" bowler compared to India's Ravichandran Ashwin, former South African bowler Paul Adams, who became popular for his unorthodox action, said on Tuesday.
