First Time In 147 Years: Ravichandran Ashwin Sets Unique 'Pakistan' Record After Retirement

Ravichandran Ashwin's sudden retirement from international cricket has allowed the 38-year-old to now become the first person to achieve a rather unique thing. Ashwin is among 14 Indian players to have made more than 100 Test appearances for India, and one of 78 players in the history of the game to do so. However, Ashwin will go down as the first-ever player in the 147 years since Test cricket began with 100 or more Test caps who has never played a single match against Pakistan. While Ashwin is the first in the list, he could soon have two of his teammates join him.

Big Blow For England: Ben Stokes To Skip India Tour, Champions Trophy. The Reason Is...

England Test captain Ben Stokes has been ruled out of next year's Champions Trophy one-day international tournament in Pakistan and the preceding white-ball tour of India, team management announced Sunday. The 33-year-old star all-rounder was not considered  after damaging a hamstring during England's defeat by New Zealand in the third Test at Hamilton earlier this month. "Durham all-rounder Ben Stokes was not considered for selection as he continues to be assessed following a left hamstring injury sustained," said an England and Wales Cricket Board statement.

Do Feel For Nathan McSweeney, But Totally Understand Why Australia Dropped Him, Says Michael Vaughan

Former England captain Michael Vaughan said he does feel sad for Nathan McSweeney, who was dropped from Australia's squad for the remaining two Tests against India, while acknowledging the rationale behind the decision made by the visitors'. McSweeney opened in the first three Tests against India but made just 72 runs at an average of 14.40, despite not having opened previously in first-class cricket. On Friday, the Australian selectors dropped McSweeney to draft in teenage opener Sam Konstas. "I feel for Nathan, I think he'll be back - but I totally understand why Australia made this move. I feel for the kid, because of all the people that I've seen come into Test cricket over the last 10 years, I don't think anyone's been given a harder challenge.
