India Complete Series Sweep Against Zimbabwe As Sikandar Raza's Ton Goes In Vain

Sikandar Raza's lion-hearted effort took Zimbabwe on the cusp of a famous victory before India held their nerves to pull off a 13-run win in the third ODI and complete a series sweep in Harare on Monday. The final game of the series too was heading India's way until Raza (115 off 95 balls) brought Zimbabwe back into the contest with the support of Brad Evans (28 off 36). The duo shared a 104-run stand off 77 balls for the eighth wicket to raise hopes of a memorable result against their mighty opponents. However, Raza fell to a brilliant catch by Shubman Gill in the penultimate over, as India scraped through.

Cricketer Murali Vijay, Krisnamachari Srikkanth's Son Among Three Amateurs In Chennai Open Golf

Murali Vijay and state player Anirudha Srikkanth, son of former captain Krisnamachari Srikkanth, will be among three city-based amateurs in the Chennai Open Golf Championship, starting here from Tuesday. The other amateur is Suman Ranjeet. Top-flight golf returns to the city after four years with the tournament which will see participation of the country's top golfers. The tournament, part of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Tour and to be held at the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation (TNGF) golf course, will see 126 golfers including 123 professionals and three amateurs taking part, the organisers said at a press meet here on Monday.

Chahar ran in and before delivering the ball he removed the bails with Kaia way out of his crease.

Shubman Gill, since the time he made his senior international debut in January, 2019, has been touted as a special talent. Right from his U-19 days, Gill's shot-making and calm approach made him stand out on the field. However, after 11 Tests and eight ODIs, the one thing that was missing from Gill's repertoire was an international ton. Before coming into the third ODI against Zimbabwe on Monday, Gill had scored four half-centuries in Tests and three in ODIs. On Monday, he got to his first international ton off just 82 balls. He ultimately finished on 130 off 97 balls.

Shubman Gill Smashes Maiden International Hundred, Takes India To 289/8 In 3rd ODI vs Zimbabwe

Shubman Gill was all class on way to his maiden international hundred, taking India to 289 for eight in the third and final ODI against Zimbabwe here on Monday. Gill (130 off 97 balls) shared a 140-run stand with Ishan Kishan (50 off 61) who eventually got run out in a rather unusual fashion. Opting to bat for the first time in the series, India did not have the most fluent of starts as they struggled to 63 for one in 15 overs.

Shubman Gill finally ended a long wait for his first international ton when he reached the triple figure mark off just 82 balls against Zimbabwe in the third ODI in Harare on Monday. The talented opener, who will turn 23 next week, had scored seven 50-plus scores in the 11 Tests and eight ODIs since making his international debut in January, 2019. However, despite reaching the 90s on a couple of occasions the century eluded Gill. But, on Monday, Gill ensured that he gets to raise his bat for the first international ton.
