Following a 200 in the previous match, Prithvi Shaw smashed a hundred to power Northamptonshire to a six-wicket victory over Durham in the One-Day Cup on Sunday. Giving another reminder of his striking powers, Shaw made an unbeaten 125 off just 76 balls with 15 fours and seven sixes. The Northants chased down a modest 198 with consummate ease. Pacer Luke Procter took four for 34 off nine overs as Northamptonshire restricted Durham to 198 in 43.2 overs.

Ahead of travelling to Ireland, pacer Prasidh Krishna bowled at full tilt for Mysuru Warriors against Hubli Tigers in the KSCA Maharaja Trophy T20 tournament in Bengaluru on Sunday. Prasidh is scheduled to leave for Ireland on August 15 from Mumbai along with other Indian players including captain Jasprit Bumrah. India will play three T20Is against Ireland on August 18, 20 and 23 at Malahide, Dublin. However, Prasidh utilised the KSCA T20 tournament to hone his skills and further tune his body to the demands of the game before his departure.

India batter Shubman Gill failed to end the West Indies T20I series on a high as he was dismissed on a score of nine in the fifth and final match in Lauderhill on Sunday. Less than 24 hours ago, Gill returned to form with a brilliant 77 in the fourth T20I at the same venue. It seemed that Gill would end the series on a high after failing to score runs in the first three matches. However, he was dismissed LBW by Akeal Hosein, who had also dismissed his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, in the first over of the match.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) lost its blue tick verification on its ‘X' (Twitter) account after the cricket governing body in India changed its profile picture to the Indian flag in support of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign, launched ahead of India's 77th Independence Day, invites residents to display the Indian flag on their social media profiles. The BCCI honoured the request by changing its profile image to the tricolour.

The young opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill matched an all-time record in Indian cricket as the duo stitched an opening stand of 165 runs in the 4th T20I against West Indies in Florida, making the run-chase of 179 easy with their attacking strokes. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma had also stitched a 165-run stand against Sri Lanka for the opening wicket at Indore in 2017. Seeing the pairing of Gill and Jaiswal script history, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar took to X (formerly Twitter) to sing their praises.
