There is a good news for the fans of the Indian cricket team. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are back in their groove, batting in the nets ahead of the 2023 Asia Cup. The continental event is set to take place in Sri Lanka and Pakistan, starting August 30 with the final scheduled to be played on September 17. In a press release in late July, the BCCI had informed that both Rahul and Iyer resumed their practice. Now in a video uploaded by Kolkata Knight Riders and their star player Venkatesh Iyer, both Shreyas and Rahul could be seen batting in the nets, showing great form.

Brandon King's unbeaten knock of 85 off 55 balls shattered Team India's dream of clinching the five-match T20I series against West Indies on Sunday. After restricting the visitors to 165/9 in 20 overs, West Indies made a mockery of the target and chased it down in just 18 overs. King's 85-run knock also got huge support from Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 47 runs off 35 deliveries. West Indies claimed the five-match series 3-2 and Pooran walked away with the Player of the Series award.

Set a target of 166 to win the fifth and deciding contest, in Lauderhill, Florida, West Indies reached their target with two overs to spare with Nicholas Pooran scoring 47 in a partnership of 107 with King. The win was a morale-booster for West Indies cricket after the one-day team failed, last month, to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in their history.
