Rohit Sharma Gives Big Reply To Pakistan Legends' 'Unfair Advantage' Allegations

Skipper Rohit Sharma struck down the notion of India having an unfair advantage in the Champions Trophy due to playing all their matches in Dubai, saying it is not their "home venue" and the pitches have thrown up "different challenges" to his side. Several former players from Pakistan, Australia and England have taken an exception to India staying in Dubai for the entire duration of the ICC showpiece, saying the move allowed them better chance to acclimatise to the conditions than other teams in Group A. "Every time, the pitch is giving you different challenges. The three matches that we played here, the pitch has behaved differently. This is not our home, this is Dubai. We don't play so many matches here, and this is new for us too," Rohit said during the pre-match press meet ahead of the semifinal against Australia.

'Pressure Will Be On Both Teams': Rohit Sharma On Semi-Final Against Australia

Skipper Rohit Sharma dismissed the thought that India are under added pressure against Australia in the Champions Trophy semifinal, and felt that "pressure to win" will be equal on both the teams. India have not beaten Australia in the ICC knockouts matches since winning the 2011 World Cup quarterfinal. "Look, they are a great opposition to play against. All we had to do is what we have been thinking about the last three games and we have to approach that game in a similar fashion. We understand the opposition and how they play and stuff like that," Rohit said in the pre-match press conference.

"From Ferrari To Rickshaw": Mohammad Rizwan Ridiculed By Pakistan Ex-Teammate After CT 2025 Humiliation

Pakistan's Champions Trophy 2025 capitulation has once again exposed all the things that are going wrong in the country's cricket. Since the 2017 Champions Trophy, Pakistan haven't had much to show in the ODI format. The latest setback, in a tournament that it's hosting, has led to widespread criticism. Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir took a step further while speaking about the captaincy transition from Babar Azam to Mohammad Rizwan. Both Babar and Rizwan are batting mainstays of Pakistan but their performances have been under the scanner of late.

"Very Unfortunate": BCCI Blasts Congress Leader For Fat-Shaming Rohit Sharma

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma found himself embroiled in an unnecessary debate on Monday as Congress leader Shama Mohamed fat-shamed him on social media. The politician's remarks triggered a huge controversy, drawing reactions from both cricketing and political spectrums of the country. Rohit Sharma, who remains one of the most decorated cricketers in the modern game, was targeted by the national spokesperson of Indian National Congress, who stressed that the iconic cricketer 'needs to lose weight'.

After Win vs New Zealand, India All-Rounder Axar Patel Reveals "The Match" Which Gave Him "Self-Belief"

Axar Patel is quickly positioning himself as an useful all-rounder in white ball formats, and for him "self-belief" is the key ingredient in that transformation. In the latest instance, Axar made a handy 42 and then claimed the prized wicket of Kane Williamson with his left-arm spin to play an important role in India's 44-run win over New Zealand in a Champions Trophy match in Dubai on Sunday. "I was not able to click earlier and it was in the back of the mind that I was not able to show my talent. Maybe, I was putting more pressure on myself back then, despite knowing that I have the talent," Axar said in a mixed zone interaction with reporters here.

Watch: KL Rahul's Wicket-Keeping Blunders Leave Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Fuming

The India vs New Zealand Champions Trophy Group A clash on Sunday provided moments when it seemed that the Rohit Sharma-led side may be slipping to its first loss in the Champions Trophy 2025. But then, just like it has happened so many times in the Champions Trophy 2025, India found new hero to beat its rivals comprehensively. On Sunday, it was Varun Chakravarthy, who, playing his second ODI, spun a web and picked a five-wicket haul. India next face Australia in the semi-finals and need to iron out flaws before the knockout clash. One aspect that needs improvement is fielding.

Inzamam-ul-Haq's Vile 'IPL' Dig At BCCI Amid Champions Trophy Row

Team India's triumphant ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign so far has not just highlighted the muscle-power that the country's cricketing ecosystem has but also the flaws that exist across the border in Pakistan. Both India and Pakistan have their own T20 leagues - Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League respectively - but there remain a few rules that are unique to both tournaments. One of the rules is that the BCCI's decision of not allow Indian players to participate in overseas leagues. Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq isn't a fan of the rule set by the Indian board.
