Inaugural Kho Kho World Cup In India To Be Held Next Year

The first edition of the Kho Kho World Cup will be held in India next year and will feature 16 men's and women's teams from 24 countries and six continents. Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) made the announcement on Wednesday. "Kho Kho has its roots in India and this World Cup will highlight the rich cultural heritage and competitive spirit of the sport. Today, the sport that started in the mud and has gone to the mat now has a global presence with 54 countries playing the sport across the world," KKFI said.

Indian Shooters Win Two Bronze Medals In Junior World C'ships To Stay On Top

Indian rifle and pistol shooters won two bronze medals in their respective 10m mixed team events at the ISSF Junior World Championship in Lima, Peru. The bronze medals on day two of the competitions at the International Shooting Sport Federation event took India's count to five medals (two gold and three bronze). The rifle shooters went first and Gautami Bhanot and Ajay Malik shot a combined score of 628.9 after 30-shots each to finish third among 34 pairs. The performance qualified them for the bronze medal match with fourth-placed Croatian pair of Anamarija Turk and Darko Tomasevic, which they won 17-9.
