Asian Games: Men's, Women's Swimming Teams Qualify For 4x100m Freestyle Relay Final

Indian swimmers Tanish George Mathew, Vishal Grewal, Anand AS and Srihari Nataraj advanced to the final of the men's 4x100m freestyle relay at the Asian Games on Thursday. They clocked a national record time of 3:21.22 in their heat to qualify for the final. Men's 4x100m freestyle relay final will start today in Hangzhou at 6:18 PM. Tanish, Srihari and Anand were also a part of the previous national record, a 3:23.72 at the 2019 Asian Age Group Championships.

Indian swimmers continued to disappoint in the pool with none of them managing to qualify for the finals of their respective events at the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Wednesday. Olympian Maana Patel finished fifth in heat 3 and 13th overall with a timing of 1:03.55s but failed to qualify for the final of women's 100m backstroke. It turned out to be a disappointing outing for India's Nina Venkatesh as well as she finished fourth in her heat and 14th overall with a timing of 1:03.89s to crash out of the women's 100m butterfly.

Swimmer Jonathan Tan places fourth in 50m freestyle at Asian Games

HANGZHOU: Jonathan Tan was left ruing a poor start as he missed out on a podium place in the men’s 50m freestyle on Monday (Sep 25), after finishing fourth with a time of 22.11s.
