FIFA's "unfortunate" decision to ban the All India Football Federation despite closing in on a consensus on matters concerning the elections and structure of constitution. In a massive setback for the country, world football governing body FIFA suspended India for "undue influence from third parties" and said the U-17 Women's World Cup "cannot currently be held in India as planned". "The CoA is surprised that the FIFA decision has come when extensive discussions were going on for the past few days between all stakeholders, including FIFA-AFC, AIFF, CoA, and the Sports Ministry as per the Order of the Supreme Court," the CoA said in a statement.

FIFA ban on Indian football due to "third party interference". As per Article 13 of FIFA Statutes, the letter sent by the world football governing body general secretary Fatma Samoura states that "AIFF representatives and club teams are therefore no longer entitled to take part in the international competition until the suspension is lifted.

So, their claims of financial irregularities in AIFF are unfortunately not right but again that is a separate issue. What I was trying to say was that I am optimistic that this would be sorted out. We have experienced and wise people in MYAS, FIFA even the highest body Supreme Court. There are two clauses which I have read so far in which players should not have voting rights which is not in FIFA Constitution and the second is to ask COA to hand over the responsibility to AIFF. So, this is possible," said former General Secretary of AIFF Kushal Das while speaking to ANI.
