WTCR Free Practice 1 flash: Björk and Berthon on top
Thed Björk headed Nathanaël Berthon in the first free practice session of WTCR Race of Hungary as the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup field got to grips with a bright and sunny Hungaroring. Björk set his benchmark of 1m51.965s in his Goodyear-equipped Cyan Performance Lynk & Co about 20 minutes into the 45 minute session around the 4.381-kilometre circuit.
Ekström fastest in Pool FAST Qualifying
CUPRA EKS driver Marcus Ekström claimed top spot in both Pool FAST Qualifying sessions this morning, topping the overall timesheets with a commanding 1:53.442 lap. The Swede set his fastest lap during Qualifying 1, unable to improve in the second session after a slight slide and rising track temperatures. Ad/> Hyundai Motorsport N’s Mikel Azcona secured second place in 1:54.132, set during Qualifying 1, while Romeo Ferraris’s Kevin Ceccon completes the top three thanks to a 1:54.284 lap set in Qualifying 2.
The day ahead at WTCR Race of Hungary
It’s qualifying day at WTCR Race of Hungary with the chase of pole position getting underway at the Hungaroring from 15h35 CET. Before Qualifying, however, the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup drivers and their teams will take part in Free Practice 1 from 09h15-10h00 and Free Practice 2 from 13h10-13h55.
