The 2022 WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup will be decided by two events in the Middle East when Bahrain and Saudi Arabia host the all-action series from Discovery Sports Events and the FIA for the first time later this season. With the full support of the Bahrain Motor Federation and Saudi Arabian Automobile and Motorcycle Federation respectively, WTCR Race of Bahrain is scheduled to take place from November 10-12 as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship 8 Hours of Bahrain weekend, with the WTCR Race of Saudi Arabia night race event following from November 25-27.

Néstor Girolami has tipped Ignacio Montenegro for big things after they came close to winning the TCR South America endurance race at Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo in their native Argentina last weekend. Esteban Guerrieri was back at the track where he marked himself out as a FIA World Touring Car superstar, taking victory in the TCR South America endurance race at Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo earlier today. Guerrieri made his FIA World Touring Car Championship debut at the venue in northwest Argentina in 2016 when he challenged for pole position before eventually settling for a weekend-best result of sixth in Race 2.
This weekend’s TCR South America two-driver counter in Termas de Río Hondo will mark the debut of Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina’s Corolla GRS TCR, a possible future contender for WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup honours. Jorge Barrio and Thiago Camilo have been selected to drive the Corolla, which will race under temporary technical certification and will therefore not be eligible for TCR South America points.
