Oscar Piastri To Drive For McLaren And Not Alpine In 2023

Australian Oscar Piastri will drive for Formula One team McLaren and not Alpine next year, motor car racing's governing body the International Motoring Federation (FIA) announced on Friday. The 21-year-old had been caught up in a fight between Alpine and McLaren with the former claiming Piastri had a contract to drive for them and even announcing him as part of their 2023 line-up. Piastri forced them into an embarrassing u-turn hours afterwards when he said he had no such arrangement with them.

WTCR all set for a Middle Eastern adventure as 2022 calendar is completed

The 2022 WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup will be decided by two events in the Middle East when Bahrain and Saudi Arabia host the all-action series from Discovery Sports Events and the FIA for the first time later this season. With the full support of the Bahrain Motor Federation and Saudi Arabian Automobile and Motorcycle Federation respectively, WTCR Race of Bahrain is scheduled to take place from November 10-12 as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship 8 Hours of Bahrain weekend, with the WTCR Race of Saudi Arabia night race event following from November 25-27.

WTCR’S Azcona sets his ETCR target

Goodyear #FollowTheLeader Mikel Azcona has set out his target for the deciding weekend of the FIA ETCR eTouring Car World Cup. Currently leading the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup for BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse, Azcona is also contesting the all-electric ETCR for Hyundai Motorsport N where he has a top-three finish in his sights.
