The CUPRA EKS driver secured maximum points through his heats and although this points tally can still be matched by his team-mate Adrien Tambay, a faster qualifying time for Blomqvist means he would win the tie-breaker.
Pool FURIOUS drivers Adrian Tambay and Mikel Azcona had glorious starts to their Sundays in Sachsenring for the final day of the 2022 FIA ETCR eTouring Car World Cup with a win apiece in their respective Pool FURIOUS Semi Finals as the temperatures increased at the superb Saxony circuit. Ad Tambay kept his perfect record thus far this weekend intact with a win in Pool FURIOUS Semi Final One for CUPRA EKS, largely without incident, save for a late lunge from Luca Filippi in his Romeo Ferraris at the start of the final lap.

Mikel Azcona meanwhile took the FURIOUS Quarter Final Two win for Hyundai Motorsport N after an early fight with CUPRA EKS man Jordi Gené and late dice with hithertoo race-long leader Luca Filippi whose Romeo Ferraris Giulia ETCR had led from pole till the final corner too.

Title points leader Adrien Tambay took the Pool FURIOUS pole position at Sachenring for Race DE whilst as the season-finale to the FIA ETCR eTouring Car World Cup . Tambay took his CUPRA EKS CUPRA eRacer to a 1m 28.173s lap in the Q1 session and was unable to improve come Q2, but neither was his nearest rival, Mikel Azcona for Hyundai Motorport N in the Veloster N ETCR, with third fastest in both sessions, and overall, Norbert Michelisz finiding a slight improvement in lap time in Q2 for Hyundai Motorsport N.
