With the Indian Premier League just days away from its commencement, fans in Pakistan are dreaming of seeing their top players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi feature in the Indian T20 league. While Pakistani cricketers are banned from participating in the IPL, certain fans continue to dream of the directive changing in the future, allowing players from across the border to play in the IPL too. On Friday, however, former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh shattered one such dream of a fan.
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been declared fit to take part in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pant suffered a life-threatening car crash in December 2022, and has been out of action since then. He had missed IPL 2023 due to the injuries sustained in the car crash. However, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has cleared Pant to keep the wickets, and the player will also lead the franchise in IPL 2024. After the news of Pant's return was made official, DC shared a welcome back post for their captain.
