With racing returning to Azerbaijan this weekend, the city of Baku is excited to host another Formula 1 race around its streets. Having been a fixture on the calendar since 2016, the circuit offers a unique opportunity to teams and drivers as they navigate the demanding layout.
Formula 1 visited the Eastern European country of Azerbaijan for the first time in 2016. Back then, the race wasn't named after the country it was hosted in, but it was known as the European Grand Prix. From 2017 onwards, F1 did away with the European GP nomenclature and gave Azerbaijan its own race.

The 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans takes place at the Circuit de la Sarthe this week. The world’s most famous automobile endurance race will welcome a full crowd again after being held behind closed doors in 2020 and then with a restricted attendance last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Community leaders in Worsley are calling for action on a nightmare roundabout which is causing safety concerns and huge traffic build ups. The two roundabouts that connect to the M60 see a constant build up of traffic during rush hour periods and leads motorists to take unnecessary risks, ward councillors have said.
