Delhi Capitals Owners Agree To Buy Major Share In Hampshire Takeover

The GMR Group, co-owners of IPL franchise Delhi Capitals, has agreed to a deal with English county team Hampshire to buy its major shares worth 120 million pounds (approximately Rs 1278 crore). Hence, Hampshire will become the first county side to be owned by an overseas entity, as the GMR Group will now have control over 51 per cent of the team's shares. "The Delhi part-owners are understood to have beaten a second bid from rival Indian Premier League franchise Lucknow Super Giants with an offer which values Hampshire at 120 million pounds, although that price includes the club's debts of around 60 million pounds," the Telegraph reported.

IPL: After Ricky Ponting, This Overseas Head Coach Set To Be Removed - Report

Indian Premier League franchise Punjab Kings is not likely to renew the contract of head coach Trevor Bayliss, as per a report. Bayliss' two-year contract with the side has ended now and the franchise is unlikely to continue with him, said the report. It added that PBKS are in hunt for an Indian coach. If this turns out to be true, Bayliss would be the second Australian coach after Ricky Ponting to be removed this month.

Since Saturday morning, various sections of the media have claimed that Pant, also DC's captain, is potentially leaving the franchise. Rishabh Pant May Leave Delhi Capitals. This IPL Team Leads Race To Sign Him: Report

Who Will Replace Ricky Ponting As Delhi Capitals Head Coach? Sourav Ganguly Drops Massive Hint

Delhi Capitals parted ways with head coach Ricky Ponting in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the franchise confirmed on Saturday. Ponting was appointed head coach of Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) in 2018 but during his seven-year tenure, the franchise was unable to win the IPL title even once. With Ponting not longer with the franchise and the mega auction taking place, Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly has emerged as one of the front-runners for the job. In a recent interaction, Ganguly was asked whether he will be becoming the next DC head coach and he had an explosive reply.

Ricky Ponting Sacked As Delhi Capitals Head Coach Amid IPL Trophy Drought

Delhi Capitals on Saturday parted ways with head coach Ricky Ponting after seven unsuccessful years in their quest for an elusive IPL silverware, the franchise announced on social media. While it is still early days, there is every possibility that Sourav Ganguly, the current Team Director of DC, could double up as the head coach next season. “As you move on as our head coach, we are finding it incredibly difficult to put it down in words. The four things that you told us about in every huddle -- care, commitment, attitude and effort, they sum up our seven years together,” DC posted on their official 'X' handle. While the franchise waxed eloquent in that emotional post about their long association with the Australian, it is learnt that Ponting was told in no uncertain terms that his performance hasn't pleased the management after being given seven years -- unheard of at franchise level without results.
