Munaf Patel, member of India's 2011 World Cup-winning team and Delhi Capitals bowling coach, has been fined 25 per cent of his match fees and has also accumulated one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team's match against Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday. "Munaf Patel admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.20 - which pertains to the conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game - and accepted the Match Referee's sanction," the IPL said in a statement on Thursday.

DC posted a total of 188/5 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Later in the chase, RR put up a strong fight but DC restricted them to 188/4, hence taking the game to the super over, where the Axar Patel-led side won with one ball to spare. It was the first IPL match since 2022 to go into a super over.
