Close on the heels of India's demoralising Test series defeat in Australia, captain Rohit Sharma has joined the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team's nets session on Tuesday morning and batted alongside Ajinkya Rahane. Rohit, who managed just 31 runs across three Tests in the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under before "opting out" of the series-decider in Sydney, was part of a meeting that was held on Sunday to review the team's performance along with head coach Gautam Gambhir and BCCI's new secretary Devajit Saikia.

The recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia was no less than a nightmare for Team India. Despite winning the opening Test by a whopping total of 295 runs, the visitors lost the five-match series 1-3. With this loss, Team India also failed to reach the World Test Championship final as Australia and South Africa will be playing the match to clinch the ICC title. Despite being on the losing side, India also had a big positive like Nitish Kumar Reddy, who slammed a century on his debut tour.

English cricketers are seeking clarity from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regarding the issuance of No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) after being picked to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) during Monday's draft in Lahore.
