"I Lose My Focus...": Shubman Gill's Honest Admission After Ranji Trophy Return Is Concerning

India batter Shubman Gill on Saturday conceded that he has, of late, developed a tendency to lose focus after getting 25-30 runs in red-ball cricket, evidence of which was seen in a couple of his dismissals during the five-match Test series in Australia. Gill identified this as an area of concern soon after making a fine second-innings hundred for Punjab on the third day of their Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka. His 102-run knock, though, went in vain as Karnataka hammered the visitors by an innings and 207 runs. "Red-ball batting is a concern. Sometimes, I think with the red ball, in the matches that I play, I get very good 25-30 runs.

Pakistan To Test Champions Trophy Venues By Hosting Tri-Series From This Date

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will test its newly renovated stadiums in Karachi and Lahore for the upcoming Champions Trophy by holding a tri-nation ODI series involving South Africa and New Zealand from February 8. The PCB issued the official schedule of the tri-series on Saturday with the final slated at the National Stadium in Karachi on February 14. The Champions Trophy will be held from February 19 to March 9. The Board, which has spent around 1.2 billion rupees on the upgrade and construction of new buildings at its two Test venues, is under scrutiny on whether the stadiums would be ready on time for the eight-team Champions Trophy.

2nd T20I: Tilak Varma Powers India To Two-Wicket Win After Top-Order Fails

Tilak Varma's fifty of rare brilliance helped India survive a top-order meltdown against England pacers and register a two-wicket win in the second T20I and take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series in Chennai on Saturday. Tilak (72 not out, 55b, 4x4, 5x6) cleverly used the extreme pace of English bowlers to amass runs, and singlehandedly took India past the target, as the hosts finished the night at 166 for eight. It was a mini classic because the left-hander hardly had constant support from the other end and the England bowlers were cock-a-hoop lot after making serious inroads.

Second Time In 148 Years: West Indies Bowlers Make History Again, With Bat In Hand

Is It Too Early To Write Off Virat Kohli? Ex-India Star Says "Forget What..."

Former India batter Mohammed Kaif is hopeful of Virat Kohli regaining his form in the upcoming Champions League. The former India captain Kohli had a poor outing with the bat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, scoring only 190 runs in nine innings with the help of just one century. Kohli's recent form has raised concerns over his future in the team, but Kaif suggested it would be stupid to write the star batter off just yet. India will be playing its T20I matches in Dubai after refusing to travel to Pakistan.
