"Gutless": Mitchell Johnson Takes Aim At Pat Cummins After Justin Langer's Exit

Former Australia pacer Mitchell Johnson on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Test skipper Pat Cummins after Justin Langer resigned as the head coach of the senior men's team. Cricket Australia on Saturday accepted men's team head coach Justin Langer's resignation. "Justin was offered a short-term extension to his current contract, which sadly he has opted not to accept," stated an official Cricket Australia release. "Pat Cummins has been lauded as some type of cricketing saint since his elevation to the top job this summer. Cummins might have delivered with the ball during the Ashes series, but he has failed his first big test as captain pretty miserably," Johnson wrote in a column for The West Australian, as reported by Fox Sports.

Watch: Dinesh Bana's Match-Winning Six In U19 World Cup Final Compared To MS Dhoni's Epic Maximum In 2011 World Cup Final

Team India lifted a record-extending fifth U19 World Cup title after they defeated England in the final of the latest edition at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. India are the most successful team at U19 World Cups, having won titles in 2000, 2008, 2012 and 2018 previously. India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Bana hit a six over long-on to give India their fifth title on Saturday. His shot reminded many of former India captain MS Dhoni's six in the final of the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly Leads Congratulatory Messages For India's U19 World Cup-winning Team

The Yash Dhull-led Indian team won the 2022 ICC U19 World Cup by beating England by 4 wickets in the final in Antigua on Sunday. This is a record-extending fifth triumph for India in the U19 World Cup. England's attempt to win their second title, since winning the tournament way back in 1998 ended in disappointment as the unbeaten Indian juggernaut steamrolled their opposition. India were tremendous with the ball, reducing England to 61/6, before rearguard from James Rew (95) took the team to 189 all out. India were made to work hard for their runs and eventually it was unbeaten knock of 50 from Nishant Sindhu and  another half-century from vice-captain Shaik Rasheed (50) that took the team home. Raj Angad Bawa was adjudged player of the match for his devastating spell of 5/31 and mature knock of 35 that set up the victory.

India vs West Indies, 1st ODI: Will India discard tried and tested template?

Rohit Sharma ruffled. Even if he is surreally calm, atleast on the exterior, the manufactured turbulence in Indian cricket post December, would have put him on high alert ahead of India’s 1000th ODI, in the first match of the three-match ODI series against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Post the 2019 World Cup, India’s ODI record has been modest. They have lost 12 of the 24 games played with one being a washout. What’s more, they have suffered series hammerings in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

U-19 World Cup: Making of Raj Angad Bawa - A chance trip to Dharamsala and influence of father's "student" Yuvraj Singh

Raj Angad Bawa was just another happy-go-lucky kid, who effortlessly got good grades in school and loved to groove to the beats of Bhangra till he was 13 years old. With the hill-station of Dharamsala hosting an international cricket match back in the day, DAV Chandigarh's cricket coach Sukhwinder Singh Bawa decided to take his teenager son to watch the game. Something changed in little Raj and as a father, for Sukhwinder it didn't go unnoticed that son's focus shifted with nimble "footsteps" making way for deft "footwork". And the result was an all-rounder performance at the global stage albeit at the junior level.
