TOI has learnt that the India women's team is set to tour Sri Lanka and England to play limited overs games in the forthcoming months, besides taking part in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The icing on the cake for Mithali Raj & Co will be a rare chance to play an ODI (final game of the tour) at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground on September 24. The India women's team didn't play at Lord's during their all-format tour last year.
Aaron Johnston’s men are the latest additions to the Robinson Services Premier League after finishing second to Cliftonville Academy in Section One last year and have suffered five consecutive league defeats.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has so far picked 12 wickets in 13 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. While there are many other bowlers who have taken more wickets than him in the franchise league, Kumar's economy - 7.20 - is very impressive. Playing for SunRisers Hyderabad against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday, the veteran pacer bowled a wicket-maiden in the 19th over with MI needing 19 off the last two overs. Kumar's show thus played a crucial role in SRH defeating five-time champions MI by three runs.
Virender Sehwag was one of the most devastating openers India have had in Test cricket, with his ability to score runs quickly helping the team take the game away from the opposition. Now, the former opener has named Prithvi Shaw as being the one who "can bring the excitement back in Test cricket." Shaw, like Sehwag, likes to play aggressively at the top of the order. The youngster, however, has not played for India since being dropped after the Adelaide Test during the tour of Australia in 2020-21.
Arjun Tendulkar, a left-arm pacer in the Mumbai Indians squad, has been bowling great at the nets. He is the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and has played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy too for Mumbai's state team. Though the 22-year-old is yet to get a game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Arjun has been putting in the hard yards in the training sessions. In a recent video, which was uploaded on MI's social media handles on Thursday, Arjun can be seen bowling precision yorkers.
Australia white-ball skipper Aaron Finch had an underwhelming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season for Kolkata Knight Riders as he managed just 86 runs in five innings, with his highest score being 58. Over the course of last 12 months, Finch has not been able to score big consistently and this is something Australian fans must be worried about. Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has said that Finch is batting nowhere his best and he cannot be picked if he is not scoring runs in the buildup to the T20 World Cup set to be played in Australia this year.
Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last league game in IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. MI would aim for a win and disrupt DC's chances of reaching the playoffs, where they are fighting neck-to-neck with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2022 points table. Looking at the final XI of MI, young all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar could finally get a game and make his much-awaited debut in IPL cricket in MI's final game of the season.
Delhi Capitals will take on Mumbai Indians in their last league match of the ongoing IPL 2022 season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. A win would take them to the playoffs ahead of Royal Challengers Bangalore on a better net run-rate. Mitchell Marsh starred in DC's last two wins and the Australian all-rounder will look to continue the great form and take his team to the playoffs. Prithvi Shaw's return to the squad is a welcome news for DC batting but it's not clear whether the young opener will feature in th playing XI or not.
