The flamboyant Rishabh Pant on Monday acknowledged the influence and guidance of Ashish Nehra after he survived his horrific car accident, saying the former India seamer's advice to "stay happy" stood the keeper-batter in good stead during a difficult phase. Pant met with the accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on the night of December 30, 2022. His car caught fire but he made a lucky escape even though his injuries were quite severe and needed multiple surgeries. "I think one advice which really helped me was from Ashish Nehra," Pant recalled in a freewheeling chat during CII Eastern Region's interactive session - 'India@100: Leadership Insight from the Sports Economy'.

Former India batter Ambati Rayudu batted for spinner Sai Kishore's inclusion in the national side following his consistent run in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. The 28-year-old is currently the second-highest wicket-taker for GT and the second-highest among all spinners in IPL 2025, having taken eight wickets in four matches at an economy rate of 7.06. With a career T20 economy rate of 5.98 from 74 matches, his overall performance is even more remarkable. The spinner has played three T20Is for India, as part of a second-string side, at the Asian Games in October 2023. Since then, he hasn't represented India in any format.

Heinrich Klaasen Left Out Of South Africa's Central Contract List; David Miller Take Hybrid Deal

Heinrich Klaasen's international cricket career could be in jeopardy after he was excluded from Cricket South Africa's (CSA) 18-player central contract list which will run from June 1 to May 31 next year. Having retired from Test cricket in January 2024, Klaasen was on a white-ball-only contract in the previous cycle and is believed to be focusing on his T20 league career moving forward. Meanwhile, CSA in a statement said that "discussions regarding his future are ongoing and a final decision will be made in due course". With the introduction of hybrid contracts, David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen will be contracted to participate in specific agreed-upon bilateral tours and ICC events.
