Veteran Australian spinner Nathan Lyon said on Saturday he "did not really see BazBall" during the two Tests he played against England in Ashes 2023 and added that his injury has taken his hunger for the game to another level and a return to England for the Ashes later cannot be ruled out. Lyon played the first two Tests of the thrilling Ashes series — at Edgbaston and Lord's — before a calf injury ruled him out.
Former Test captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is set to take over as Pakistan team chief selector even as director Mickey Arthur and head coach Grant Bradburn will know by next week whether they will remain part of the national selection committee. A source in the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that Inzamam has given his consent to becoming a paid chief selector again after he held the position between 2016 and 2019. "The Cricket Technical Committee members including Misbah ul Haq, Inzamam and Muhammad Hafeez have been discussing the new selection committee and it is yet to be decided whether Arthur and Bradburn should remain members on it," the source told PTI.

Australia skipper Pat Cummins could miss the three-match ODI series against India next month having played the fifth Ashes Test with a suspected broken wrist. Cricket Australia is yet to reveal the details of Cummins' injured left wrist. The men from Down Under will fly to India for the ODI series, which is slated to begin on September 22 in Mohali.
