Suryakumar Yadav To Lead ICC Men's T20I Team Of The Year, 4 Indians Included

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the team of the year 2023, naming India's Suryakumar Yadav as the captain. The team consisted of a total of 4 Indians while the big players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, etc. were understandably absent, having not featured in the format since the conclusion of the T20 World Cup last year. But, the apex body did find places for other Indian stars like Ravi Bishnoi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Arshdeep Singh in the 11-member roster.

Playing against England Lions in a practice Test, Bharat scored 116 off 165 balls as India A looked to chase down the target of 490 runs. While his ton couldn't take the team all the way, with India A remaining 64 runs short of the target, Bharat did make a huge statement with the bat. After reaching the triple-digit score, Bharat also produced a brilliant celebration, dedicating the ton to Lord Ram.

Indian cricket team stalwart Virat Kohli has pulled out from the first two Tests against England over 'personal reasons'. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the same via a statement on Monday. The BCCI hasn't yet named a replacement for Kohli but plans to do so in due time. Earlier, Kohli had pulled out of the first T20I against Afghanistan too due to 'personal reasons'. It has, however, not been revealed what the personal situation is that Virat is dealing with.
