Mitchell Marsh-led Australia handed a 3-0 whitewash to Scotland in a recently-concluded T20I series. A video from the series is going viral on social media. As the Women's T20 World Cup approaches, former Indian cricketer Diana Edulji has shared her insights and hopes for the Indian team on Friday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai when the trophy was showcased. The tournament, set to begin on October 3, will see 10 teams competing for the coveted trophy, which was recently showcased in Mumbai. Edulji emphasized the crucial role of openers Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana in India's campaign, stating, "The biggest bets are the two openers, Shefali and Smriti. They have to put a price on their wicket. The World Cup is fully dependent on them."
Veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, who last played an international match in December 2012, has picked his all-time India ODI XI. While speaking to Shubhankar Mishra on the latter's podcast, Chawla, who hasn't played for India in over a decade, picked legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni as the captain of the team. At the top of the order, Chawla picked legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar and current India captain Rohit Sharma as openers. At no.3, the 35-year-old made a surprise pick in the form of Virender Sehwag, and demoted Virat Kohli to no. 4.
Age is just a number. Some of the Indian players have actually proved this with their performances. There is a long list of such players that includes the likes of MS Dhoni and Piyush Chawla. The two are still active in the Indian Premier League. While Chawla is 35, 43-year-old Dhoni is also aging like fine wine. Both the players were the part of IPL 2024. Dhoni appeared for Chennai Super Kings and Chawla played for Mumbai Indians. Though both of them are close to their retirements from the game of cricket, neither Dhoni nor Chawla have shown any keen interest towards the decision.

Navdeep, who won the gold medal in the javelin throw F41 category at the Paris Games, had a fun time interacting with PM Modi. India's two-match Test series against Bangladesh is set to kick off on November 19. The series will also see Rishabh Pant making his comeback to Test cricket as the player missed the format since his horrible car crash in December 2022. While Pant will be the cynosure of all eyes, it will also be interesting to see if the Indian cricket team shows more trust on KL Rahul's experience or it goes with a young Sarfaraz Khan, who has piled lots of runs in the past few years. Both of them have been named in the squad for the first Test against Bangladesh.
It hasn't been all smooth for India batter Shreyas Iyer who has been in and out of the national team. At present, there isn't a single format in which Iyer has a guaranteed spot in India's XI. Looking to earn his way back into India's Test team, Iyer was hopeful of putting up a better show in the ongoing Duleep Trophy than he has so far. The middle-order batter, playing for India D in the Duleep Trophy, incurred a 7-ball duck in the first innings.
