Real Madrid scripted yet another Champions League comeback at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, beating Manchester City (6-5 on aggregate) after extra-time in the second-leg of the semi-final tie on Wednesday. Trailing 0-1 (5-3 on aggregate) till the 89th minute, the 13-time UCL winners scored twice via Rodrygo Goes in the stoppage-time to push the game towards extra-time. Karim Benzema then scored from the spot after he was tripped inside the box by Ruben Dias, as Madrid held on to secure a place in the final.

Karim Benzema scored the winning penalty in extra-time to take his tally to 10 goals in six Champions League knock-out games, an astonishing record not least because of the stage, the class of opponent and the weight of his contributions. Against Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and City, it was a goal by Benzema that sent Madrid through.
