Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will be leading India in the upcoming five-match T20I series after KL Rahul was ruled out on the eve of the match due to a groin injury. The press conference on Wednesday was delayed by almost an hour, and out came Rishabh to speak to reporters, and he said that it is a huge honour to lead the country.
KL Rahul was on Wednesday ruled out of the five-match T20 International series against South Africa owing to a right groin injury. "Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav will also miss out the T20 series after getting hit on his right hand while batting in the nets on Tuesday evening," a BCCI statement read. "The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant as captain and Hardik Pandya as vice-captain for the home series against South Africa," the statement further read.
