The second seeds registered a 7-6 (7/0), 7-5 victory over unseeded Italian pair of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori at the Rod Laver Arena. It was their maiden title as a team and Bopanna's first in men's doubles after 60 previous Grand Slams -- a record for most attempts before winning. The victory also saw Bopanna becoming the oldest-ever man to win a Grand Slam title.
India pacer Jasprit Bumrah wasn't a happy man as KS Bharat's advice to skipper Rohit Sharma cost him the wicket of England batter Ben Duckett on Day 3 of the first Test at Hyderabad.
