Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of a 24-year-old woman from Tameside. Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin, from Ashton-under-Lyne, was last seen in January and reported missing a month later.
BREAKING Boy, 12, rushed to hospital and two more injured after collision on major road
A 12-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital following a collision on a busy road between Ashton and Oldham. Police closed off Ashton Road at Bardsley Bridge, near Daisy Nook, for around two hours.

A man has died after being electrocuted by a pylon in south Manchester. A huge emergency services response was sparked after the incident next to the M60 slip road, near to Princess Parkway, just after 5.30pm last night (Wednesday).

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has long established his credentials in limited-overs cricket, but his 196 against Australia put him up there with some greats in the long form of the game too. Azam fought valiantly for 10 hours and seven minutes in an innings lasting 425 deliveries to help Pakistan salvage a draw on Wednesday in the second Test in Karachi. His heroic innings became the second-longest knock in the fourth innings of a Test, just 36 minutes behind Michael Atherton's 185 not out that ensured England saved the 1995 Johannesburg Test against South Africa.
