Bumrah, who is India's bowling spearhead, displayed his prowess with the bat as India's tail wagged to help the visitors amass a total of 416, recovering from a precarious 98/5, in their first innings. The two centurions of India's first innings, Rishabh Pant (146) and Ravindra Jadeja (104), led the remarkable recover with a record sixth-wicket stand of 222. Bumrah (31* off 16 balls) scored 29 runs in the over bowled by Broad, while six runs came off extras. The 35 total runs conceded are the most ever scored in a single Test-match over, surpassing the previous record (28 runs) held by Lara, Australia's George Bailey and South Africa's Keshav Maharaj.
