Bangladesh Pacer Shohidul Islam Suspended For Doping Violation

Bangladesh pacer Shohidul Islam has been suspended for 10 months after pleading guilty to breaching Article 2.1 of the ICC Anti-Doping Code. The 27-year-old pacer has represented Bangladesh in one T20I. After admitting the offence, Shohidul has been suspended from all forms of cricket for 10 months. The 10-month suspension has been backdated to May 28, the day he admitted to the offence, meaning the Bangladesh pacer will be eligible to play on 28 March 2023. Shohidul has played a solitary T20I for Bangladesh, where he picked up the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan in the third and final match of the series which Pakistan won 3-0.

WI vs BAN: West Indies Ease To Victory In 2nd T20I vs Bangladesh

Contrasting half-centuries by Rovman Powell and Brandon King highlighted a formidable West Indies batting effort on the way to a 35-run victory over Bangladesh in the second T20 international in Dominica on Sunday. Powell's blistering 61 not out off 28 balls and opener King's more measured 57 from 43 deliveries paced the home side to 193 for five batting first in ideal conditions. Despite an unbeaten 68 from Test captain Shakib Al Hasan, the visitors lacked urgency through their innings and were limited to 158 for six in reply.

West Indies Announce Squad For White-Ball Series Against Bangladesh

Cricket West Indies' (CWI) selection panel on Tuesday announced the West Indies men's squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series and the three-match One-Day International series against Bangladesh. There are also recalls for experienced wicket-keeper batter Devon Thomas and allrounders Keemo Paul. In the ODI series squad, there is a call up for left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie.

WI vs BAN, 2nd Test: West Indies Rout Bangladesh By 10 Wickets To Sweep Series

West Indies wasted no time on a day when more than five hours were lost to the elements to complete a 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh on the fourth day of the second and final Test in St Lucia on Monday. Frustrated by torrential overnight showers which left a sodden outfield and prevented play until mid-afternoon, the home side claimed the last four wickets swiftly despite an entertaining, unbeaten 60 by Nurul Hasan to dismiss the visitors for 186 in their second innings after they had resumed in the already precarious position of 132 for six.

Kemar Roach Targets 300 Wickets As West Indies Aim For Series Win Vs Bangladesh

When Kemar Roach marks out his run in the second Test against Bangladesh, which starts at the Daren Sammy Stadium on Friday, he will do so knowing that he is just one wicket short of joining a very select group of West Indian bowlers. The 33-year-old Barbadian pace bowler goes into the Test with 249 wickets to his name, the same as a legend of the 1970s and 80s, Michael Holding. One more scalp and Roach will become just the sixth West Indies bowler to joint the '250 Club', following Courtney Walsh (519 wickets), Curtly Ambrose (405), Malcolm Marshall (376), Lance Gibbs (309) and Joel Garner (259).

West Indies vs Bangladesh, 1st Test: West Indies Wrap Up Victory As Shakib Al Hasan Admits "First Session Killed" Bangladesh

Opening batter John Campbell completed his first Test half-century in the Caribbean as the West Indies completed a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh on the fourth morning of the first Test in Antigua on Sunday. Resuming at 49 for three, and needing just 35 more runs at the start of the day in pursuit of a modest target of 84, Campbell dominated the scoring alongside vice-captain Jermaine Blackwood (26 not out). He completed his third Test half-century overall with a sweep for four before sealing the result emphatically with a six over long-off in the same over from part-time off spinner Najmul Hossain.

WI vs BAN, 1st Test, Day 3: Kemar Roach Puts West Indies On Verge Of Victory Against Battling Bangladesh

Veteran pacer Kemar Roach's enduring quality and consistency put the West Indies within 35 runs of victory over Bangladesh going into the fourth day of the first Test. His five for 53 from 24.5 overs in the Bangladesh second innings total of 245 looked, briefly, as if it would be overshadowed though by a stunning West Indies collapse in pursuit of a modest target of 84 as the hosts slipped to nine for three late on the third day Saturday.

West Indies were eventually dismissed in their first innings for 265 after tea, having started the morning at 95 for two.
