The Indian pair, who had reached the numero uno status after their Asian Games triumph, slumped four places after failing to defend their crown at the French Open last week in Rennes. Satwik and Chirag lost 23-25 21-19 19-21 to former world champions Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan in the second round. Among other top Indian shuttlers, PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, and Kidambi Srikanth all remained static in their current rankings. Sindhu, who had suffered a knee injury during her French Open campaign, held on to the 10th spot in women's singles after regaining the top 10 position last week.

"After returning from France and undergoing a knee scan, we've found a niggle in my left knee. In hindsight, conceding the match was the best call," Sindhu said in a social media post on Tuesday. "Doctors have been advised a few weeks rest before I begin training again. The break is also an opportunity to focus on the upcoming Olympics. I shall be back on the court very soon." India Create History In Asian Para Games, Takes Tally To Record 80 Medals With 2 Days Left

Indian para athletes on Thursday created history by winning the highest number of medals in the Asian Para Games, taking country's tally to 80, including 18 gold medals. India have now gone past the earlier best of 72 achieved in the 2018 edition in Indonesia. India's medal tally read 18 gold, 23 silver and 39 bonze, and the count will keep on increasing till the end of the fourth day of competitions. With two more days left in the Games, the country is on course to achieving its target of 100 medals in this Hangzhou edition.
