Indian discus thrower Yogesh Kathuniya on Wednesday said he needs to work on his mental strength of his game after clinching yet another silver medal at the Paris Paralympics, marking his fifth consecutive second-place finish since the Tokyo Games three years ago. The 27-year-old from Haryana achieved a season-best throw of 42.22m in the discus throw F-56 on Monday but admitted he has not been at his best mentally. "I have lacked in mental strength. I will have to build up more, just as it was before, in 2022. Since I got injured, due to cervical, it has come down," Kathuniya told PTI during an interaction.

Indian para-athlete Amisha missed out on a medal in the final of the F46 Shot Put at the ongoing Paris Paralympics, as she finished at number 14th in the medal match on Wednesday. Amisha finished at number 14th with the personal best of 9.25 m, but it was not enough to land her a position in the podium. Her first attempt turned out to be her best throw. Dominating the podium were Noelle Malkamaki of USA, who set a new world record with a throw of 14.06 m.
India's challenge in women's singles table tennis at the Paralympics ended here on Wednesday after Tokyo edition's silver-medallist Bhavinaben Patel lost to China's Ying Zhou 3-1 in the class 4 quarterfinal. Bhavinaben, who became India's first-ever medal winner in the sport with her silver in the Tokyo Paralympics, fought hard in the first two games and even won the third but eventually lost to her Chinese rival 12-14, 9-11, 11-8, 6-11. Earlier, the other women's singles player in class 3, Sonalben Patel lost to Croatia's Andela Muzinic Vincetic in the round of 16.
