Team GB's Izzy Atkin has withdrawn from the big air event at the Beijing Winter Olympics as she continues her recovery from injury — but she still aims to compete in the slopestyle. The 23-year-old — who won bronze in the latter event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeonchang, the first British Olympic medal in skiing — fractured her pelvis on the Dew Tour in Colorado in December and needs more time to recover before taking part in live competition.
It sounds counter-intuitive on the face of it, but failing to sign all of your targets during the transfer window need not be a bad thing. Take Manchester City, for example, who are currently shoo-ins for the Premier League having already scored 55 goals, yet if they’d got what they wanted last summer, would now be lumbered up front with a slow, sour-faced, superannuated crosstown legend getting in the way of all the kids, and, even worse, five-goal spent force Harry Kane. Conversely, successfully getting your own way can end up backfiring. Yes, it’s Spurs and Harry Kane again, isn’t it.

Kaleb Dahlgren didn't know about STARS air ambulance until the night his life was saved. The then-teenager was travelling with his Saskatchewan junior hockey team, the Humboldt Broncos, when a semi-truck failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the bus Dahlgren was on near Armley, about 335 km north of Regina, on April 6, 2018. Sixteen people died and 13 were injured. Dahlgren and others were airlifted to hospital and received medical attention on board Shock Trauma Air Rescue (STARS) air ambulances, run by the non-profit organization, which serves Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta.
