SRH were involved in a bidding war with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the player, who slammed a century in the World Cup final last month. Head last played in IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2017, having gone unsold last season. Head had a base price of Rs 2 crore.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) splashed Rs 7.4 crore on West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell, who became the first buy at the IPL Players Auction 2024. RR were involved in a bidding war for Powell with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who had made the first bid. Powell, who was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the auction, had a base price of Rs 1 crore.
Delhi Capitals (DC) on Tuesday bought England batter Harry Brook for Rs 4 crore at the IPL Players Auction 2024 in Dubai. Brook, who was released by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the auction, sparked a bidding war between DC and Rajasthan Royals. Brook had a below par IPL 2023 with the bat after being bought buy SRH for a whopping sum of Rs 13.25 crore.
